I didn’t grow up a runner. I became one in the pause—during the pandemic—when the world got quiet and heavy. Between studio pivots, raising my toddler, and rebuilding a life, I started running to feel grounded.

Since then, running has carried me through 11 half marathons. And still, it’s never been about the finish line. It's about the feeling. The space. The breath. The rhythm. A practice that mirrored yoga: breath-led, honest, healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is Elevate Run Club for?

    Runners of all backgrounds. The first-timers. The weekend warriors. The ones chasing pace goals and the ones chasing clarity. If you move with intention, you’re one of us.

  • When do we meet?

    Every Sunday at 10 AM. We meet at Elevate Yoga, 298 Elgin Street (corner of Gilmour).

  • How far is the run?

    We run 5K—steady and social. A route through the heart of Ottawa and along the quiet stretch of the canal.

  • Do I need to sign up?

    Yes. The Run Club is free and open to all, but we encourage everyone to reserve their spot online. It helps us prepare for the group and stay connected with our community. If you’re staying for post-run yoga, booking is required as space is limited.

  • Do I need to be a runner?

    Not at all. Whether you’re training for a race, returning after time away, or simply looking to move with good people, you’re welcome here.

  • Is there yoga after the run?

    Yes. After the run, we move to the mat. Breath-led, body-aware, and open to all levels.

  • What should I bring?

    Running shoes, a water bottle, and a yoga mat if you’re staying for practice. Weather-ready gear never hurts.

  • Can I bring a friend?

    Absolutely. The more the merrier.

  • What if it rains?

    We show up. Rain or shine. If conditions become unsafe, we’ll notify you in advance. But around here, a little weather just adds to the story.

  • Do you track pace or time?

    We don’t. Run by feel, conversation, or pace. If you enjoy tracking your progress, we’ve created a Strava group for the community.
